Frequently asked questions.

Are you accepting New Patients?

At present time, Pleasant Valley Dentistry is currently accepting New Patients. We do our best to grow our team to meet the needs of our patient base, while also ensuring that all team members are well aligned with our clinical care and customer service philosophies so that your care and experience is consistently up to our standards of excellence.

Can I still be a patient if I don’t have Insurance?

Our philosophy is to provide comprehensive and high-quality dental care to everyone, regardless of dental insurance coverage. We have many patients who do not have traditional dental insurance and still see us for routine, preventive, and comprehensive dental care.

For individuals who may have greater treatment needs than routine care, and are curious about ways that they can save on cost, we offer a Dental Savings Plan as an alternative to traditional dental insurances. We have found that this plan has improved our patients ability to access the high-quality dental care that they deserve.

Do you take my Insurance?

At Pleasant Valley Dentistry, we send claims to most dental insurance companies as a courtesy for our patients. While Pleasant Valley Dentistry is considered a non-contracted provider with some dental benefits plans, we have many patients who utilize insurance plans with which we are non-contracted and most still get their full annual benefit! Unlike health insurance, you are typically still able to see dental providers who are not in your dental insurance network.

Often times, we find that dental insurance companies are not as supportive of our patients needs as we would prefer. This is why we also offer an In-Office Savings Plan as an alternative to dental insurance as a way for our patients to access ideal care, without restrictions, and also save money on their treatment needs.

Will my dental care cause pain?

While most medical procedures do cause some degree of discomfort, our goal at Pleasant Valley Dentistry is that your time in our office is as comfortable and pain-free as possible. Dr. Therese Susienka and our Registered Dental Hygienists are certified in the administration of Local Anesthesia, and utilize a combination of high-strength topical anesthetic to “pre-numb” as well as expertly placed fast-acting anesthetic to ensure you feel minimal to no discomfort during your dental procedure. Depending on the nature of your treatment, some post-procedural discomfort may be expected. Your care provider will instruct you on the specifics of what to expect, as well as proper use of over the counter and prescription medications to ensure you recover quickly.

Do you offer sedation?

At Pleasant Valley Dentistry, we see many patients who currently have, or had in the past, a dental phobia or traumatic dental experience. We find that most individuals become very comfortable with our warm and friendly staff and cozy amenities, such as ceiling-mounted television and noise-cancelling headphones. Many of our patients previously needed to be sedated for dental care and find themselves comfortable without sedation in the trusted care of our providers. For patients who do require sedation, we refer care to specialist dental offices in central MA that provide a range of sedation options.

Do you treat children?

Our clinical team at Pleasant Valley Dentistry loves meeting people of all ages! For children under the age of 10, however, we have found that the nearby Pediatric Dental office (Sutton Children’s Dentistry, located at 27 Galaxy Pass next to Market 32) is able to provide a wonderful dental experience and superior pediatric care. We are happy to coordinate Mom & Dad’s appointment with your child’s dental appointment across the plaza so you can minimize trips and time away from work or home.
